SUBLIMATION PRINT
Sublimation printing (also called as photo printing) is an ideal way to apply highly detailed symbols or photos to products. Sublimation printing can only be carried out on products intended for this purpose and which have been surface treated accordingly. For textiles, products containing at least 70% polyester in the material and in white colour are also suitable.
What is a sublimation print?
Sublimation printing uses special inks that are printed on special paper. The printed paper is placed on the product and pressed onto the product using a heat press.
Which products are suitable for sublimation printing?
Only specially designed products with a suitable surface treatment are suitable. So sublimation printing cannot be done on all mugs or T-shirts etc. However, the range of products is quite wide, and there are also many different so-called magic mugs, which change colour in response to heat. You can also find a wide range of products on our website under the Photomugs link.
What are the advantages of sublimation printing?
- Very detailed symbols can be printed. Printing a photo is no problem
- Printing small quantities is reasonably priced
- Possibility to personalise products at no extra cost. For example, name printing on mugs is very popular.
- Printing is very durable
- For textile products, the result remains very soft and there is no difference between printed and unprinted surfaces when touched by hand.
What are the disadvantages of sublimation printing?
- Most products require a white substrate.
- Only products specifically designed for sublimation printing can be printed.
- The printing process is not very fast
